Training & Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Telemental Health Provider, and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant licensed in MO (LPC), KS (LCPC) and FL (LMHC).
I have my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Masters of Arts in Counseling and Guidance from University of Missouri, Kansas City and 15 years of experience treating eating disorders across all levels of care. I am passionate about treating all types of eating disorders and related shame, body image concerns, and co-morbid disorders and conditions. I also completed an internship at a domestic violence shelter, allowing me to provide trauma-informed care.
I am proud to hold the designation of Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and Consultant from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp). I thoroughly enjoy supervising clinicians seeking their CEDS designation and playing a leadership role within the local KC iaedp chapter.
Approach
I am direct but gentle during sessions, using an integrative therapy style to help meet each client where they are currently in their therapy journey. My approach is heavily CBT and relationship-focused with use of DBT, ACT and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) techniques. I am also a Health at Every Size (HAES), gender-affirming, and trauma-informed clinician who holds a safe and nonjudgmental space to help you explore diet culture myths and start to heal your relationship with food and your body. I believe that mutual trust, understanding, and compassion with my clients is crucial to success in therapy.
Specialization(s)
I am passionate about treating all types of eating disorders and related shame, body image and mental health concerns including trauma, anxiety disorders, depression and bipolar disorders, self- harm and suicidality, and personality disorders. I also love working with athletes both during and after their athletic career, and clients in their perinatal years.

A few
fun facts
I split my time between Kansas City and Orlando, where I live on a ski lake with my husband and 2 German Shepherd dogs.

My first career was in the restaurant industry. I held front-of-house positions in various hotels, sports bars, and James Beard award winning restaurants.
Growing up on a cattle farm in Missouri, I developed a love for the outdoors and animals and (funny enough) scuba diving with sharks.
