Training & Experience

I earned my BSc in Dietetics and BSc in Human Nutrition from Kansas State University, then completed my Dietetic Internship at Northwest Missouri State University. Since 2021, I've been in private practice as a Registered Dietitian.

I'm passionate about helping clients with eating disorders and chronic illnesses build a healthier relationship with food. My goal is to help them learn how to nourish their body while gaining an understanding of the role of nutrition in managing their chronic illness and supporting their overall health and well-being.

Approach

In my practice, I believe in being authentic and transparent with my clients. My role as your Dietitian is to ensure you understand the "why" behind my recommendations. My clients also learn the "how" to implement the nutrition plan I provided for them.

You’ll receive education, handouts and follow-up emails with the topics we covered. With my background as a food blogger, I have plenty of recipes and ideas for how to make food more approachable and less overwhelming.

I take an intuitive eating, HAES-aligned, and anti-inflammatory approach, tailoring care to each person’s needs.

Specialization(s)

I work with individuals of all genders navigating eating disorders and chronic illnesses, but I have a particular passion for working with those struggling with ARFID (ages 8+) and Binge Eating Disorder (ages 17+). I also support clients managing chronic, nutrition-related conditions such as arthritis, PCOS, diabetes, POTS, EDS, Hashimotos and other autoimmune or inflammatory disorders.

Living with a chronic illness can make nutrition feel overwhelming, and my goal is to help clients find a sustainable, peaceful approach to food without unnecessary restriction.

Testimonials

“Sarah is a wonderful nutritionist and even more "guide" on getting things right with one's overall health (food, drink, exercise, medications, etc.) I liked her so much, my daughter also used her for guidance and advice. Significant illnesses you are dealing with, no problem, Sarah is there to help you through things”

“Sarah is a great dietitian that has helped me with multiple issues impacting my health. Sarah is knowledgeable about a lot of issues and how your diet can help them.”

“Sarah has provided guidance and resources to our family as we work through the treatment of our daughter's eating disorder. She specifically educated our daughter about her disorder and taught her strategies for recognizing, managing and overcoming her negative behaviors. Sarah has been direct and honest in her approach, making sure we fully understand and follow our plan. She has been quick to respond to our needs, and follows up with written materials to emphasize concepts.”
